Ron Paul more libertarian than republican...

I consider myself to be a "liberal libertarian", that said I do enjoy many of the works that Ron Paul the Congressman from Texas has put out through the years. He has proudly proclaimed himself a Libertarian in the past then turned to the Republican party in Texas but he's never lost those libertarian roots. This seems to be both beneficial in that it attracts people who are not traditional republicans but it also seems to be a problem in that he does not get the same level of support from the traditional GOP machine.
