What is a "liberal" Libertarian anyway?

This is more of my refuge since at times things on Liberal Common Sense get crazy and I am on some issues more libertarian. Especially when it comes to federal issues, technically to some I would be more of a constitutionalist since I believe in a smaller federal government with more power given to the states. I don't believe in unfunded federal mandates as an example. I also don't believe in a Federal Department of Education, I think educating children should be something that is the responsibility of the State.
